                                        FUNDRAISING IDEAS & TIPS

Funds raised FRIDAY at the Hot Heads Chili Cook-Off will benefit The Jake Owen Raborn Foundation. Founded in 2006, the Jake Owen Raborn Foundation is a non-profit foundation dedicated to financially supporting families enduring pediatric cancer, as well as providing financial support to organizations and facilities that care for families enduring pediatric cancer.
 
SATURDAY the American Cancer Society / Relay for Life. The American Cancer Society / Relay for Life: Every dollar you raise makes a difference to people in your community whose lives are touched by cancer. The Society has contributed to almost every major discovery in cancer research. Millions of lives have been saved as a result, including people you may know. For those people and countless others, the research the Society has funded is resulting in better ways to prevent, detect, and treat cancer.

Cook Teams can play a key roll in helping to raise funds by participating in the Peoples Choice Competition.
One of the biggest revenue sources during the Chili Cook-Off is the proceeds raised through the efforts of the Team/Booth Peoples Choice Competition. We would like to encourage ALL teams to participate and we encourage you to be creative. Think about ways your Team/Booth can receive donations to put toward the Peoples Choice Award.

                            ALL COOK TEAMS ARE ENTERED!!

The Peoples Choice Award will be awarded to the top three (3) Cook Teams collecting the largest dollar amounts for their Team / Booth. Teams may start collecting donations for the event days, weeks or even months prior to the day of the cook-off. These same teams can also have a plan of action the day of the event to continue to raise money for their Team / Booth.

 

We ask all teams to turn in the money they have collected before the Chili Cookoff when they register. This will help us have a head start on counting. Thank You for your cooperation!!



Jars will be provided for you to collect donations at you booth. You may choose to give out such things as games, specialty/novelty items (Mardi Gras beads, temporary tattoos, key rings, other business promotional items, etc.) Be Creative you are competing for The Peoples Choice Award.

As folks taste your delicious chili creation, convince them to make a donation for a prize, reminding them that all proceeds will benefit the charity for that day. Also, promote your own business and most of all HAVE FUN!!
